District Attorney Jason Anderson swore in Jasmyn Troncoso as a new deputy district attorney on Monday, June 22, 2020.

Ms. Troncoso completed her law degree from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles in 2017. During the second and third years of her legal education, Ms. Troncoso worked in an externship at the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office in the Crimes Against Police Officers Section.

After graduating from law school, Ms. Troncoso obtained a position with the San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office. She worked in the Rancho Cucamonga branch for approximately 18 months on the misdemeanor team and in the preliminary hearing unit.

Ms. Troncoso moved to Bend, Oregon, and became a deputy district attorney in the Deschutes County District Attorney’s Office. During her time in Deschutes County, Ms. Troncoso worked on the person crimes team, prosecuting cases that involved live victims.

After realizing that San Bernardino County was her true home, she returned to California and the San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office, where she plans to spend her career.

During Ms. Troncoso’s swearing-in ceremony, District Attorney Anderson remarked how he had argued cases against her when he was a defense attorney, and Ms. Troncoso was always professional and fair. He gained a deep level of respect for her, and even joked how he lost his cases whenever he went up against her.

Ms. Troncoso will be assigned to the felony unit in the Victorville branch and has a passion for crimes against police officer cases.
