With a rich background and considerable experience in criminal law, Deputy District Attorney Jacob Guerard joins the San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office.


Born and raised in the Inland Empire, Jacob Guerard grew up in Fontana and graduated from the University of California, Riverside before graduating Cum Laude from the University of La Verne College of Law.

Deputy District Attorney Jacob Guerard was sworn in on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 by District Attorney Jason Anderson.

Jacob is a member of several professional organizations such as the Riverside County Bar Association, the San Bernardino County Bar Association, the Western San Bernardino County Bar Association Young Lawyers Division, and has served as an attorney coach for the Santiago High School Mock Trial team. Jacob is the only member of his family to ever attend law school or become an attorney.



Jacob first entered the legal profession while in law school as a student clerk for the Honorable Katrina West, Judge of the San Bernardino County Superior Court, advising and drafting opinions on Petitions for Writs of Habeas Corpus. Jacob also worked as a Summer Certified Law Clerk at the San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office, as an Associate at Maline & McGee, LLP, as an Associate and Lead Research Attorney at the Law Office of James McGee, PLC, and also as an attorney with Inland Defenders (San Bernardino Conflict Panel).

As a defense attorney, Jacob gained invaluable experience representing clients in all manner of cases, including homicide, capital murder, domestic violence, violent felonies, Three-Strikes cases, gang-related crimes, driving under the influence cases, civil harassment restraining orders, and post-conviction expungements and appeals.

Jacob now joins the San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office hoping to better give back to the community that raised him. He firmly believes that all persons from all walks of life deserve equal treatment under the law, and will work diligently to not only advocate on behalf of the victims of crime, but safeguard the rights and protections of the accused.

Honored to represent the interests of the people of San Bernardino County, Jacob is also looking forward to giving back to his community by mentoring and advising students whom are interested in pursuing a legal career.
