Jonathan Santiago is honored to serve the people of San Bernardino County as a Deputy District Attorney.

Deputy District Attorney Jonathan Santiago was sworn in on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 by District Attorney Jason Anderson.

Prior to joining our office, Jonathan represented victims of elder abuse and neglect across Southern California. Through his advocacy, Jonathan was able to fight for justice, hold reckless defendants accountable for their actions, and bring peace and closure to the victims’ families. Jonathan believes empathy for victims and their families is a key part of effective advocacy.

Jonathan’s interest in becoming a prosecutor began when he joined Creighton University’s Mock Trial Team as an undergraduate. There, he learned the foundational skills needed for his eventual legal career. As a student at UC Irvine’s School of Law, he represented victims of domestic violence as part of his clinical training. During his summers, he clerked for the Orange County District Attorney in their Felony Domestic Violence Unit and also clerked for the Anaheim City Attorney’s Prosecution Division.

Outside of the office, Jonathan is a proud coach of the Woodbridge High School Mock Trial Team in Irvine. He coaches his students to become great team members, legal advocates, and critical thinkers.

“To fight for justice is to fight for humanity. It is a fight to preserve individual dignity, community safety, and a harmonious society. I am ready to fight for you, the People.”
Deputy District Attorney Jonathan Santiago

Jonathan is grateful for the opportunity to represent the people of the state of California and is dedicated to making the county of San Bernardino a safe and strong community every single day.
