The San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office has charged Daniel Davis (Age 25 of Hesperia) with filing a false police report.
CASE SYNOPSIS
On Tuesday, June 2, 2020, deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department – Victorville Station, responded to Victor Valley Hospital in regards to an assault investigation. The assault was reported to have happened on Old Woman Springs Road in Johnson Valley.
Deputies interviewed Daniel Davis, and completed an investigation. The following day, sheriff’s detectives continued the investigation, and on Friday, June 5, 2020, detectives arrested Davis.
After a review of this case, our office has filed one count for the violation of the following section of the California Penal Code, against Davis:
Penal Code Section 148.5(a)
Every person who reports to any peace officer listed in Section 830.1 or 830.2, or subdivision (a) of Section 830.33, the Attorney General, or a deputy attorney general, or a district attorney, or a deputy district attorney that a felony or misdemeanor has been committed, knowing the report to be false, is guilty of a misdemeanor.
