With a passion to humbly serve the community he grew up in, Deputy District Attorney Joshua Lizama proudly joins the San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office.
A San Bernardino county resident since birth, Joshua Lizama grew up in Upland. Growing up in Upland gave Joshua an insight to the needs of his community and San Bernardino County as a whole.
Deputy District Attorney Joshua Lizama was sworn in on Wednesday, May 12, 2021 by District Attorney Jason Anderson.
After graduating from high school, Joshua decided to pursue a higher education and attended Purdue University where he received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Joshua then decided he wanted pursue a career as an attorney and attended DePaul University College of Law for law school. Though law school is no easy feat, Joshua persevered and successfully graduated making him the first attorney in his family- a title he is proud to bear.

While his initial focus of study was Family Law, in 2017 Joshua was provided the opportunity to work as a Certified Law Clerk for the San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office. It was this experience that lit a fire of desire in Joshua to become a trial lawyer and more specifically, a District Attorney.
From that point forward, all he could imagine himself doing was working as a deputy district attorney, specifically for the San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office.

From that time on, Joshua switched gears and focused all of his efforts and studies to better prepare him for a career in the courtroom. From Trial Advocacy classes to Criminal Procedure, Joshua was dedicated to do what it took to successfully reach the position of a deputy district attorney at the San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office.
