Middle School Teacher Charged with Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Student

SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY – On June 22, 2022, our Office filed felony charges against Joseph Nardella (52) of Highland. It is alleged Nardella engaged in a continual sexual relationship with a student for approximately five years, between 2015-2021. During that time Nardella was an 8^th grade teacher at Clement Middle School in Redlands, California.

The San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office has filed the following felony charges against Joseph Nardella:

(1) PC288.5(a) – Continuous Sexual Abuse

(2) PC286(b)(2) – Sodomy of a Person Under 16

(3) PC286(b)(2) – Sodomy of a Person Under 16

(4) PC286(b)(1) – Sodomy of a Person Under 18

(5) PC286(b)(1) – Sodomy of a Person Under 18

Nardella was taken into custody on Friday, June 24^th, with bail set at $500,000.00. The Court rejected a motion to increase bail, and Nardella posted bail and is currently out of custody. He is scheduled for arraignment August 10, 2022 at San Bernardino County Superior Court.
