With a charitable heart to help those in her community and a passion to create effective change, Deputy District Attorney Aliyah Redic joins the San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office.

Aliyah Redic is a first-generation college graduate, a second-generation American, and a third-generation public servant. As a second-generation American and person of color, Aliyah’s parents encouraged her to find a career she was passionate about.

Deputy District Attorney Aliyah Redic was sworn in on Wednesday, March 3, 2021 by District Attorney Jason Anderson.

With a family legacy of proud veterans and corrections officers, public service was second nature to Aliyah. In fact, her family’s history in public service is why the legal profession stood out as she was enthused by the ability to advocate for others. From the age of nine onward, Aliyah was determined to become the first attorney in her family.

“To me, lawyers are the change-makers in society. They advocate for the voiceless and advocated for my existence. I wanted to do the same. Now I get to.”

Aliyah received a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science/ Law and Society from the University of California, Riverside in 2016, and a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Southern California, Gould School of Law in 2020.

During both of her collegiate careers, Aliyah took on community service roles for multiple organizations. Between Saturday street clean-ups and mentoring underserved youth, Aliyah always wanted to give back to the communities she lived in. Before law school, Aliyah interned on the Hill for her local Congressman. She also advocated for children during her Big Brothers Big Sisters internship. Exposure to advocacy in differing ways solidified her desire to become a lawyer.

During her law school career, she clerked in multiple district attorney offices across California and viewed the criminal justice system from the dependency side during her tenure at the Children’s Law Center. These experiences cultivated her advocacy skills.

“To both love your job and seek justice, nothing is more rewarding.”

Aliyah is thrilled and humbled to return to the Inland Empire and begin her work as a deputy district attorney for San Bernardino County.
