The San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office has filed one count of child cruelty against Terry Scott Peterson (Age 38 of Hesperia).


On Friday, June 5, 2020, a deputy from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department – Apple Valley Station, completed an investigation into child cruelty, in the 20000 block of Serrano Road, in Apple Valley. During the investigation, Terry Scott Peterson was arrested.

After a review of this case, our office has filed one count for violation of the following section of the California Penal Code, against Peterson:

Penal Code Section 273(a)b – Child Cruelty
Any person who, under circumstances or conditions other than those likely to produce great bodily harm or death, willfully causes or permits any child to suffer, or inflicts thereon unjustifiable physical pain or mental suffering, or having the care or custody of any child, willfully causes or permits the person or health of that child to be injured, or willfully causes or permits that child to be placed in a situation where his or her person or health may be endangered, is guilty of a misdemeanor.
