FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY, Calif. – David Arthur Riden, a former assistant football coach at Los Osos High School plead guilty to felony and misdemeanor charges on Tuesday, October 4, 2022, at Rancho Cucamonga Superior Courthouse.

In August of 2021, a hidden camera was discovered in the girl’s locker room belonging to Riden. After search warrants were executed, it was determined that Riden had a substantial amount of child sexual assault material in his possession.

In total, twenty-one juvenile victims were identified.

Riden plead guilty to three felony charges, including possession of over 600 images of child sexual assault material and using a minor to produce child sexual assault material. He additional plead guilty to secretly photographing a minor. As part of the plea agreement Riden is facing nine years, four months in state prison as well as lifetime 290 registration as a sex offender.

Our Office is satisfied with the outcome of this plea, particularly on the felony charges. It ensures Riden is held accountable for his crimes and the victims will not have to endure a potentially lengthy trial and any further emotional trauma.

Riden is currently in custody with no bail. He is due to be sentenced November 18, 2022 at Rancho Cucamonga Superior Courthouse, Dept. R19.
