The San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office has filed charges against Julio Cesar Martinez (Age 36 of Southgate), Erick Alexander Cubias (Age 38 of Los Angeles), and Mario Ramirezmendoza (Age 35 of Los Angeles) for grand theft in Ontario.
CASE SYNOPSIS
On Friday, May 7, 2021, officers from the Ontario Police Department responded to the 2000 block of E. Mulberry Court in Ontario regarding a report of a theft that had occurred. During the investigation, Julio Cesar Martinez, Erick Alexander Cubias, and Mario Ramirezmendoza were arrested.
After reviewing this case, our office has filed charges against Mr. Martinez for violating the following sections of the California Penal Code:
Penal Code Section 594(b)(1) – Vandalism Over $400 Damage (Felony)
If the amount of defacement, damage, or destruction is four hundred dollars ($400) or more, vandalism is punishable by imprisonment pursuant to subdivision (h) of Section 1170 or in a county jail not exceeding one year, or by a fine of not more than ten thousand dollars ($10,000), or if the amount of defacement, damage, or destruction is ten thousand dollars ($10,000) or more, by a fine of not more than fifty thousand dollars ($50,000), or by both that fine and imprisonment.
Penal Code Section 487(a) – Grand Theft (Felony)
Grand theft is theft committed in any of the following cases:
(a) When the money, labor, or real or personal property taken is of a value exceeding nine hundred fifty dollars ($950), except as provided in subdivision (b).
Our office has charged Mr. Cubias for violating the following section of the California Penal Code:
