The San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office has charged Leonard Nash (Age 66 of Las Vegas, NV) with the murder of Michelle Jones.
CASE SYNOPSIS
On July 5, 1980, the Fontana Police Department investigated the death of Michelle Jones, who was found in a dirt field at Live Oak Avenue and Santa Ana Avenue in their city. After developing no leads, the case went cold. Earlier in 2020, a detective from the Fontana Police Department assigned to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department’s Cold Case Unit, opened the case. In doing so, a suspect was identified. Leonard Nash was arrested.
After reviewing this case, our office has charged Mr. Nash with violating the following section of the California Penal Code:
Penal Code Section 187 – Murder (Felony)
Murder is the unlawful killing of a human being or fetus with malice aforethought.
