The San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office has charged Nicholas Corey Plummer (Age 35 of Twentynine Palms) with attempted murder of other crimes.
CASE SYNOPSIS
On Saturday, August 29, 2020 at about 8:45 pm, deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department responded to the 6100 block of Chia Avenue in Twentynine Palms, regarding an unknown problem. Once on scene, the deputies initiated a domestic violence investigation. Nicholas Corey Plummer was arrested.
After reviewing this case, our office has charged Mr. Plummer with violating the following sections of the California Penal Code:
Penal Code Section 664/187(a) – Attempted Murder (Felony)
Murder is the unlawful killing of a human being, or a fetus, with malice aforethought.
Penal Code Section 245(a)(1) – Assault With A Deadly Weapon (Felony)
Any person who commits an assault upon the person of another with a deadly weapon or instrument other than a firearm shall be punished by imprisonment in the state prison for two, three, or four years, or in a county jail for not exceeding one year, or by a fine not exceeding ten thousand dollars ($10,000), or by both the fine and imprisonment.
Penal Code Section 245(a)(4) – Assault By Means Likely To Produce Great Bodily Injury (Felony)
Any person who commits an assault upon the person of another by any means of force likely to produce great bodily injury shall be punished by imprisonment in the state prison for two, three, or four years, or in a county jail for not exceeding one year, or by a fine not exceeding ten thousand dollars ($10,000), or by both the fine and imprisonment.
Penal Code Section 422(a) – Criminal Threats (Felony)
Any person who willfully threatens to commit a crime which will result in death or great bodily injury to another person, with the specific intent that the statement, made verbally, in writing, or by means of an electronic communication device, is to be taken as a threat, even if there is no intent of actually carrying it out, which, on its face and under the circumstances in which it is made, is so unequivocal, unconditional, immediate, and specific as to convey to the person threatened, a gravity of purpose and an immediate prospect of execution of the threat, and thereby causes that person reasonably to be in sustained fear for his or her own safety or for his or her immediate family’s safety, shall be punished by imprisonment in the county jail not to exceed one year, or by imprisonment in the state prison.

Penal Code Section 273.5(a) – Domestic Violence (Felony)
Any person who willfully inflicts corporal injury resulting in a traumatic condition upon a victim described in subdivision (b) is guilty of a felony, and upon conviction thereof shall be punished by imprisonment in the state prison for two, three, or four years, or in a county jail for not more than one year, or by a fine of up to six thousand dollars ($6,000), or by both that fine and imprisonment.
Penal Code Section 273a(a) – Child Abuse Likely To Cause Great Bodily Injury or Death
Any person who, under circumstances or conditions likely to produce great bodily harm or death, willfully causes or permits any child to suffer, or inflicts thereon unjustifiable physical pain or mental suffering, or having the care or custody of any child, willfully causes or permits the person or health of that child to be injured, or willfully causes or permits that child to be placed in a situation where his or her person or health is endangered, shall be punished by imprisonment in a county jail not exceeding one year, or in the state prison for two, four, or six years.
