The San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office has charged Joshua Arturo Vasquez (Age 22 of Morongo Valley) with attempting to murder three people.


CASE SYNOPSIS

On Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at about 5:59 am, deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department went to the 3700 block of Porter Boulevard in Joshua Tree, regarding a disturbance. During their investigation, Joshua Vasquez was arrested.

After reviewing this case, our office has charged Mr. Vasquez with violating the following sections of the California Penal Code:

Penal Code Section 664/187(a) – Attempted Murder
Murder is the unlawful killing of a human being, or a fetus, with malice aforethought.

Penal Code Section 205 – Mayhem
A person is guilty of aggravated mayhem when he or she unlawfully, under circumstances manifesting extreme indifference to the physical or psychological well-being of another person, intentionally causes permanent disability or disfigurement of another human being or deprives a human being of a limb, organ, or member of his or her body. For purposes of this section, it is not necessary to prove an intent to kill. Aggravated mayhem is a felony punishable by imprisonment in the state prison for life with the possibility of parole.
