The San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office has charged Shea Joseph Pinney (Age 35 of Rancho Cucamonga) with the killing of Warren Clay.

CASE SYNOPSIS

On Sunday, June 7, 2020, deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department responded to Haven Avenue and Baseline Road in Rancho Cucamonga, regarding a fatal traffic collision. The department’s major accident investigation team completed an investigation. On Thursday, July 16, 2020, Shea Joseph Pinney was arrested.

Our office has reviewed the case and filed one charge of the following violation of the California Penal Code, against Pinney:

Penal Code Section 191.5(a) – Gross Vehicular Manslaughter While Intoxicated
Gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated is the unlawful killing of a human being without malice aforethought, in the driving of a vehicle, where the driving was in violation of Section 23140, 23152, or 23153 of the Vehicle Code, and the killing was either the proximate result of the commission of an unlawful act, not amounting to a felony, and with gross negligence, or the proximate result of the commission of a lawful act that might produce death, in an unlawful manner, and with gross negligence.
